I'm not sure about other artists, but sometimes I'll make something that I'm just not happy with. Perhaps it's my perfectionist mentality. One of the necklaces I had created for the Bead Soup Blog Party falls into that category. There are some things I do like about the piece, such as the color combination and some of the specific beads. However, it lays funny when worn and seems a bit unbalanced to me, so I decided to redesign it and make a new necklace! Here are the before and after photos.
Before
After
So what do you think? Is a big improvement, or did you like the original better?
I really like the after much better. It is much more balanced and a lot more fashionable. Cheers!

I do like the before one better...maybe would remove the big bead hanging above the key and add a smaller one "in" the key. I liked the toggle there, it gave that whole designer touch.
ReplyDeleteThanks for you honesty Kashmira! Having said that about the toggle, I think I agree with you.
DeleteI'm just not sure I can bring myself to remake this a third time! haha!
Like the second one. To me the first one is to..to...to...stiff.
ReplyDeleteI think you 'hit it out of the park' on the second attempt. Nice job! :-D
ReplyDeleteLike the second necklace better. The black findings are too dark for it in my opinion. The new necklace is softer and prettier.
