Sunflowers and Ice Cream!

We had thunderstorms on and off all weekend, but I still managed to get out and enjoy a great little spot called Buttonwood Ice Cream Farm. Not only do they make their delicious ice cream and waffle cones right on site (you can even meet their cows!), but they also have fields and fields of goregous sunflowers to walk around in and snap photos.

Wait in line for 30 minutes...

Forbidden Silk Chocolate and Coconut ice cream in a waffle bowl.
And topped with a little hot fudge of course!  Worth the wait!

 Meet the cows!

Then the big rain storm hit.... Time to head home!

Success!

The Art on Groton Bank show was a success!! I could not have wished for a better day weather wise and I just love the location of this show! We enjoyed the cool breeze coming from the sound, while under the shadow of New England's oldest standing obelisk at Fort Griswold.

On Sunday, I went to a local flea market to stock up on some more vintage keys. They make such awesome pendants!

I was really enjoying a perfect summer weekend, so I decided the best way to end it would be some delicious fried seafood for dinner and watching the sunset at the marina.

Time for a show

On Saturday I will be participating in Art on Groton Bank. I had a table there last year and really had a great time. So of course, I'm looking forward to this show, it's been quite a while since I've done one. Except that I'm not ready... not enough inventory, cat fur all over my table cloths, where in the heck is that banner I ordered?!

But as my mother said to me last night, "It wouldn't be a show if you weren't freaking out, Rochelle."
So wise, she is.

Bead Table Wednesday

A necklace I started working on last night.

I snapped up this pendant and a few more goodies in a destash sale last week. Unfortunately, the artists were not listed and I can't recognize all of them. Please let me know if you do.

I'm so excited to finally have a Jade Scott pendant! And how cute is that owl clasp?!

Experimentation: Metal Stamping

A friend of mine found an old set of letter stamps in his garage. Apparently these were used by sheet metal workers to mark parts for correct assembly. I found this very interesting and exciting because my uncle and late father used to own a sheet metal company and may have done this same thing! This particular set used to belong to my friend's grandfather and is about 50 years old! I'm very grateful he decided to share and I promised to put them to good use.

And here is my first metal stamped charm made into a necklace! I think my daddy would be very proud :)

Wonders from Whimsy

Yay! My bead soup has arrived from Lisa of Whimsy's Wonders. She was so generous and I am beyond thankful for these beauties.

I don't know how she knew, but I have been wanting a pendant by Golem Design Studio soo badly. I had to break out into a little dance when I saw it!

And a stunning clasp from Green Girl Studios?!  Lisa absolutely spoiled me!

I can't wait to get working with all these glass beads! I think I'll be able to make quite a few pieces for the reveal!
