Focus on Life: Monochromatic

Our prompt this week was 'Monochromatic'. This is a photo of glass beads, all in shade of blue.

When the weather is warm here, I spend a lot of my time by the ocean. The color blue makes me think of the rolling waves and brilliant sky.

My Soup Ingredients

The 7th annual Bead Soup Blog Hop has begun and I have been paired up with the gracious and ever so talented Suzette Bentley of Ellie's Bijoux! Here is the soup that she sent me...

 Clasp by Lorelei Eurto
I have been wanting one of these so bad!!

Tons of seed beads and some nice lightweight chain

Adorable owl focal by Nan Emmett!

 Beach Glass from Znetshows
Vintaj brass and sea urchin spikes
Purple crystals and buttons from Cousin

I have some many ideas of what to make already! It's going to be hard to wait until our reveal on March 30th! A big thank you to Suzette for all these wonderful gifts :)

Here are some photos of the soup I sent to Suzette. The clasp is sterling silver and I included two focals, one is a vintage brooch, the other is made by Golem Studio. Some lampwork beads, pearls, crystals and two strands of glass beads accompany them.

Be sure to stop by Suzette's blog and check out an interview with yours truly!

Focus on Life: Love & Flowers

I missed last Saturday's post due to the storm, so I'm posting two photos today. The first is for last week, but this weeks happens to be an older photo I took, as it was kinda tough to find flowers in the middle of February with 30 inches of snow on the ground ;)

Feel the Love - This is my oldest cat, Fluffy.  He gives me unconditional love everyday.

Beauty of Flowers - Taken at Buttonwoods Farm last summer as a storm rolled in.

Getting back to normal

I seem to have been in a blogging slump lately, it's taken me two days to write this post. I blame the weather. As most of you heard, the North East was hit hard by a blizzard last week. I happen to live in the area that was hit hardest, with just under three feet of snow! Luckily I was prepared, as I have lived here all my life, I knew to run out Friday morning, not only for groceries but also for beads! Two and a half days of being stuck in the house, with or without power, can make you crazy if you don't have enough projects to stay busy.

I got these lampwork beauties at a local bead shop and while this was happening outside...

I made these colorful and fun earrings!

Inspired by Winter

Sally of A Studio Sublime is hosting a blog hop today! The theme is 'Inspired by Winter' and aims to unfreeze our creative flow by using the colors of winter to inspire a beautiful peace of jewelry!

After signing up, I quickly headed over to Design Seeds in search of a winter themed color palette. I found this 'Frosted Holiday' image with a touch of green, brown and lots of pretty greys.

From there, this bracelet seemed to come together on its own. I used four ceramic beads from Splendid Loon studio (two grey, two iridescent brown), one white ceramic bead from Gaea, two green glass crystals, two brown and white lampwork beads (artist unknown, purchased from a local bead shop) and a bali silver bead, each separated with small round sterling silver beads. The owl clasp really pulls all the beads together.

The Owl in a Pine Tree Bracelet is available to purchase in my Etsy shop

Focus on Life: ♥ Hearts ♥

Our prompt this week was 'Capture Our Hearts'. I snapped a pic of two leaves on the ground that created a heart shape.
