Tips, Tricks and Cleverness

How to find the original source of an image on

Have you ever found an interesting photo on Pinterest, only to click for the link and find that someone has pinned it from Yahoo Search or to the main page of a blog, not the post itself? Talk about frustrating!
I wanna share with you a quick and easy trick to finding the ORIGINAL SOURCE of an image.

Step 1: When you find an image with the bad link, open a new browser tab (or window) and type in images.google.com into the address bar.

Step 2: Click back on the Pinterest tab (or window). Then click and drag the image to the Google tab and into the Google search bar. When your cursor moves over the search bar it will turn into a larger, blue box. Drop your image there.

Step 3: Google works its magic and you have the original link! Happy Pinning!

I shared this trick, with another tutorial, on the Facebook Bead Soup Cafe page and it received quite a response, so I thought I'd try my hand at creating my own tutorial. I hope it is clear enough to follow and that you find it useful!

{A Few of my Favorite Things} Randomness

I admit that when taking on this January Earring Challenge, I didn't think it would be quite so much work. I have a feeling the end result will be worth it though. Most of my posts have been only about my daily earrings. Not that it's a bad thing, but I wouldn't want my wonderful readers to get bored... So here are a few of my favorite things from the last few weeks!

I have been listening to a lot of  the very talented Lana Del Rey, while working on my daily earrings.

Personal Photo

I have been lazy and keep forgetting to clean up my desk space after I make something. The result has been disastrous! So I've decided to really Clean & Organize my work room. I know this will take some time, so I've been doing a little bit each day and incorporating these great tips!

Ice cube trays: To sort and separate all those piles of random beads on my desk :\

Clip Boards: Organize all your supplies for a project on individual clipboards!

I popped in to a few new blogs during the weekend and I realized that my blog is, well, boring to look at. Thank goodness one of the blogs I stumbled upon happened to have a very helpful tutorial on how to spice things up a bit!

Head over to Sweet Verbena for this and many more awesome tutorials!

One of my favorite meals is Mac&Cheese. When I have a bad day this is usually my go-to meal to prepare for Hubby and I. You know, comfort food. However, this is not the most healthy of dinners. Imagine how excited I was when I came across this recipe: SKINNY Mac & Cheese!

Six Sister's Stuff shared this recipe and I can't wait to try it!

Winter finally got the memo...

Brr! It's starting to feel more like winter in my area! I spent the weekend setting up the tree and decorating the house for Christmas, as well as some quality girl time with fellow jewelry maker and my good friend, Kate. Here is a picture of the pair of earrings she made while I was working on some custom orders.

Earrings designed and created by Kate Dufour. Photo by me.

I absolutely love these earrings; hence the feature on my blog.  I could just see myself wearing these beauties. This morning, while sipping my coffee and browsing Pinterest, I saw this great tutorial for a cute diy ruffle shirt. And then suddenly, I had the perfect outfit planned in my head ;)

Pinterest Obsession!

Not many people have caught on yet, but there is this amazing site called Pinterest.  The basic idea is that you have 'Boards' to 'Pin' things on. Anything you find throughout surfing the net. It's a fantastic way to save, organize and share ideas! I have spent way more time on this site than I should have in the last week, but I feel if you can get past the addiction it could be an invaluable resource.

I have boards for home, fashion, craft and, of course, jewelry inspiration. I've found tons of tutorials to try and can't wait to blog about them all.

If you have the whole day to spare (seriously, very addicting) then head over to the site and sign up! Be sure to follow me as well! <3
